Sprinkler and Fixed Spray Nozzle are equipment used in automatic fire protection systems. They are usually installed as part of water sprinkler systems in buildings, or fixed spray systems in industrial areas where controlled water application is needed.
In residential, commercial, and even warehouse premises, sprinklers are used as an automatic water discharge system for rapid fire control of Class A ordinary combustible fires. In industries such as transformer protection or fuel tank farms, open type nozzles are used to automatically spray water to provide cooling and exposure control to reduce heat buildup, rather than directly extinguishing fires like sprinklers.
