EMACO Pillar Fire Hydrant is an outdoor firefighting hydrant used in municipal and site fire protection water networks. It provides a connection point where firefighters can access water from the main water supply during firefighting operations.

This is a type of wet barrel fire hydrant, meaning the hydrant body is normally filled with pressurized water. Because of this design, wet barrel hydrants are normally used in outdoor locations where the temperature is above the freezing point.

The hydrants are installed above ground and connected to the underground water supply line. Firefighters can connect hoses directly to the hydrant outlets and access water quickly when needed. The hydrant is fitted with two outlet landing valves, allowing two hose lines to operate from the same hydrant simultaneously. Each outlet can be controlled individually using the valve handwheel.

When the valve is opened, water flows from the underground pipes to the hydrant body and exits through the hose outlet connection. Connected fire hoses can then be used for firefighting. Since the hydrant remains filled with water, this allows firefighters to quickly access water supply during an emergency without needing additional activation steps.
