Compressed Air Foam System

The EMACO Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) is a compact yet robust firefighting unit that uses a precise mixture of compressed air, water, and foam concentrate to produce a homogeneous foam solution. This foam is discharged through a nozzle or hose reel to rapidly suppress and extinguish fires involving flammable or combustible liquids.

The system delivers stable foam that forms a uniform foam blanket over liquid surfaces — effectively cutting off oxygen, suppressing vapors, and smothering flames. It is particularly suited for gas stations, industrial plants, warehouses, small fire-fighting vehicles, and other high-risk areas where quick, mobile response is required.

Key Features

  • Model: EN0310-CAFS

  • Tank Capacity: 10-gallon stainless-steel tank

  • Foam Agent: Compatible with AFFF 3%

  • Discharge Performance: Up to 14 m reach; ~150 seconds discharge time

  • Hose System: ½″ × 25 m automatic hose reel with 1″ pistol-type nozzle

  • Mobility: Compact wheeled design; detachable wheels for vehicle mounting

  • Application: Suitable for Class B fires and liquid-spill suppression

In many industrial, commercial, and fuel-handling environments, the speed and reliability of fire suppression can make the difference between a contained incident and a catastrophe. The Compressed Air Foam System by EMACO offers a mobile, efficient solution for such high-risk scenarios.

By combining air, water, and foam concentrate under pressure, the system generates a dense, stable foam blanket that smothers hydrocarbon fires quickly and suppresses flammable vapors — a method far more effective than water alone when dealing with fuel or chemical fires.

Thanks to its compact size, built-in hose reel and discharge nozzle, and wheeled design, the CAFS unit can be deployed rapidly, even mounted on smaller fire-fighting vehicles or positioned close to hazard zones. This makes it extremely useful for gas stations, factories, warehouses, chemical storage sites, and other facilities where quick foam-based fire response is critical.

How the EMACO Compressed Air Foam System Works

  1. Foam Mixture Preparation: The system stores a mixture of foam concentrate, water, and compressed air in its tank under pressure.

  2. Discharge Activation: Upon activation (manual or automatic depending on setup), the foam-solution is forced out through the hose reel and pistol-type nozzle. The compressed-air component ensures the foam is well-aerated, creating a stable, creamy foam consistency ideal for blanket-forming over liquid fuels.

  3. Foam Application: The discharged foam projects up to ~14 m, allowing good reach for tanks, spill pools or vehicle fires. Once applied, the foam spreads over the fuel surface, forming a stable, vapor-suppressing foam blanket that smothers flames, cuts off oxygen access and cools the fuel.

  4. Fire Suppression & Vapor Control: The foam prevents vapor release and re-ignition, while the water content in the foam absorbs heat — reducing the risk of flare-ups and protecting surrounding areas.

Because of the compressed-air enhancement, the foam produced by CAFS tends to be more stable, with better adhesion to surfaces, and more resistant to breakdown — making suppression more effective and lasting longer than basic low-expansion foam from water-only setups.

Typical Applications

  • Gas Stations & Fuel Dispensing Areas — for prompt foam response to fuel spills or fire.

  • Industrial Plants & Warehouses — for chemical storage, solvent handling, flammable liquid storage, and manufacturing facilities.

  • Petrol Stations and Oil Depots — to deal with hydrocarbon fires, leak-fires or accidental ignition quickly.

  • Mini Fire-Fighting Vehicles / Mobile Fire Units — for small-scale industrial or commercial installations where a full fixed foam system is impractical.

  • Warehouses, Chemical Stores, Maintenance Shops — for protection against solvent, lubricant, or fuel-based fire hazards.

Maintenance and Care

  • Tank Inspection & Cleaning: Regularly check the stainless-steel tank for corrosion or damage; rinse and clean the foam/water mixture tank after use to prevent residue buildup.

  • Check Hose & Nozzle: Ensure the hose reel, hose length, pistol-nozzle, and couplings are intact, free from leaks, and functioning properly.

  • Air Pressure & Foam Concentrate Level: Regularly verify internal pressure and foam-agent levels — ensure proper mixture (air, water, foam agent) for optimal foam quality.

  • Mobility Components: Ensure wheels (or wheel mounts) are not damaged, remain detachable if required for transport, and the chassis remains stable.

  • Functional Testing: Periodically discharge a small volume (in a safe test environment) to verify foam quality, reach, discharge rate and hose/nozzle integrity.

Why Choose EMACO Compressed Air Foam System

  • Rapid Foam Deployment: Instantly produces stable, high-quality foam for quick suppression of flammable-liquid fires.

  • Effective on Hydrocarbons: Excellent performance on Class B fires (fuel, oil, solvents), with strong vapor-suppression and re-ignition prevention.

  • Mobility & Flexibility: Compact, wheeled design with hose reel allows flexible deployment — ideal for petrol stations, warehouses, small fire-response vehicles or facility-based fire protection.

  • Durable Construction: Stainless-steel tank with proper finishing ensures long-term reliability, even under harsh conditions.

  • Efficient Use of Resources: The compressed-air foam method reduces water usage compared to conventional water-only fire response, minimizing water damage while maximizing suppression power.

  • Versatile Applications: Suitable for commercial, industrial, residential-adjacent, and mobile firefighting needs — from factories and warehouses to gas stations and small-scale fire trucks.
