EMACO Deluge Valve is a hydraulic valve used for activation in fire protection systems.
A diaphragm inside the valve is normally pushed with hydraulic pressure that keeps the waterway closed when idle. A trigger signal causes the pressure on the diaphragm to drop, and this causes it to retract, opening the waterway for water to flow into the piping network. This signal can be hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric, based on the trim configuration.
In deluge systems, this valve is used as the main activation valve. This type of valve is used where a large quantity of water needs to be discharged over a protected area in a short time. It is normally used with open nozzles, spray systems, or foam-water systems where fast water application is required.
Deluge valves are often used in high-hazard fire protection systems because they can automatically activate to rapidly discharge large volumes of water immediately after the threat is identified. They are commonly used for transformer protection, storage tank protection, conveyor protection, aircraft hangars, chemical storage areas, power plants, and industrial process areas.
Common uses of deluge fire protection systems include:
The valve can be configured with different trim arrangements depending on the system requirement. Wet pilot trim uses a hydraulic release line. Dry pilot trim uses pneumatic release. Electric trim uses solenoid operation. Test and alarm trim is used for the alarm and testing functions.

High-hazard facilities often involve flammable liquids, pressurized gases, or machinery that generates intense heat. Fires in these environments escalate fast. The deluge system’s open-nozzle network delivers water over large areas at once, preventing heat buildup and secondary ignition. Its UL certification ensures predictable opening time, pressure stability, and material integrity under real-world conditions.
Yes. When integrated with a foam proportioner, the valve releases water mixed with foam concentrate. This forms a vapor-tight blanket ideal for petroleum-based and polar solvent fires. The hydraulic trim ensures smooth discharge, enabling uniform foam expansion across tank tops, bund walls, and spill floors.

Maintenance is straightforward because trims are externally mounted and accessible. Wear typically begins in:
