EMACO Fog & Spray Nozzle is a firefighting nozzle used with fire hoses in hydrant, hose rack, and standpipe systems. It allows firefighters to control the direction and pattern of the water discharge during firefighting, depending on their needs.

The nozzle is installed at the end of a fire hose as the discharge point for the water supplied by the firefighting system. Once the hose line is pressurized, the operator can control the water flow and spray pattern by rotating the nozzle sleeve.

The discharge pattern of the fog nozzle can be controlled manually. By turning the control sleeve, the operator can change the discharge pattern from shut off to straight stream to wide fog spray. Using the straight stream mode concentrates the stream so it can go further and reach into the base of fires. Using the fog pattern spreads out the water, increasing the surface area which increases its cooling effect. This is why the fog mode is often used for cooling, exposure protection, and controlling fire spread.

These nozzles are commonly used with fire hoses in industrial and commercial firefighting systems. They are also frequently installed on hose rack assemblies and standpipe systems inside buildings.

Typical applications include:

  • Industrial firefighting hose stations
  • Standpipe and hydrant hose systems
  • Warehouse and logistics facilities
  • Factory and processing plant fire protection
  • Marine and port facility hose lines
  • Commercial and high-rise building firefighting systems

Fog spray nozzles are suitable for Class A, Ordinary Combustibles fires where water is generally used as the extinguishing agent. Effectiveness against Class B fuel fires depends on the situation; normally, it is used in fog mode to spray water for cooling down in such cases. It is not suitable for Class C energized electric fires as it may be ineffective and potentially dangerous due to water conducting electricity, causing short circuits or electrocution.

The nozzle body is made from bronze alloy, which provides good durability and corrosion resistance, ensuring operational reliability during emergencies.
