EMACO K5.6 Conventional Sprinkler is a type of automatic fire sprinkler commonly used in wet pipe systems.
It delivers water to control or extinguish fires. A standard spray sprinkler activates automatically with a glass-bulb heat-activation mechanism. A temperature-rated bulb is mounted on the sprinkler’s orifice. When the surrounding temperature reaches or exceeds the rated value, the glass bulb breaks. This triggers automatic discharge. Water strikes the deflector and is distributed over the protected area, using a cooling mechanism to suppress fires. Its automatic activation mechanism allows it to suppress fires in the early stages, reducing spread and minimizing damage.
Conventional sprinklers are used in automatic sprinkler systems where water distribution is required both above and below the sprinkler. The deflector design allows part of the water to be directed upward toward the ceiling and part downward toward the hazard area. They are suitable for fire protection in areas that are classified as Light Hazard and Ordinary Hazard occupancies. They are commonly installed in residential and commercial buildings such as apartments, hotels, offices, educational institutions, hospitals, parking structures, high-rise buildings, and shopping malls. They are also used in industrial facilities, warehouses, and storage areas. Risk assessment and system design should be according to NFPA 13 sprinkler system design and installation guidelines.
